Following a vision by one of our trustees, CCRW have worked with YFC to present a “Live Nativity” tableaux at the showground during the Winter Fair. Three groups of costumed actors will make their way from different areas of the showground to the bandstand – representing the manger. Community carol singing will follow.
The centre was used for prayer during the show, and we invited a variety of groups to take part. Following the morning’s prayer, and a lunch break, in the afternoon people went out in one’s or two’s to pray around the showground including attending some of the talks on Bovine TB to pray.
All in all there were around 40 people praying over the 4 days. It was such a joy to have people from different de-nominations praying together for our rural communities. They all expressed that the centre was a safe haven and there was such a presence of the peace of the Lord there. Having people from Cardiff and Newport (the big cities), some of who had never been to the show before, supporting the rural communities was encouraging. All the groups were impressed with the facilities and found it such a privilege to come and pray at the show.
We continue to support the showground chaplaincy, and they have attended nearly all of the events on the showground. The use of the room, on the ground floor, as a counselling room at all times, plus the general use of the facilities was much appreciated.
A fellowship group ran a six-session “Pilgrims” course, as a follow up to the “Ten Commandments” course. They will be running a “Discipleship” course in the New Year.
